GIS & Mapping

Climate risk maps and geospatial layers

Mapping hazards, exposed assets, vulnerabilities and risk areas.

Geomatics products make it possible to visualize areas exposed to floods, droughts, landslides, coastal erosion and other climate hazards with a territorial perspective by municipality, watershed or agro-ecological zone.

Geomatics and geospatial products Operational product Municipalities & watersheds GeoJSON · Shapefile · GeoTIFF
  • Maps of fluvial and pluvial flood-prone areas.
  • Vulnerability layers: population, buildings, roads, crops.
  • Decision-support material for local authorities and technical services.
Satellite imagery

Satellite products for flood and vegetation monitoring

Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, GPM, MODIS, Landsat and other Earth observation sources.

Satellite products feed flood detection, vegetation monitoring, land-cover analysis, surface parameter monitoring and generation of spatialized climate indicators.

Satellite and remote sensing products Continuous monitoring Pilot areas and national coverage 10 m Sentinel
  • Sentinel-1 radar for flood extent detection.
  • Sentinel-2 and MODIS for NDVI, VCI, NDWI and land cover.
  • GPM, CHIRPS and local stations for rainfall data.
Predictive models

Hydrological, hydraulic and climate modelling

GR4H, HEC-RAS 2D, FFG, SWAT, SPI, SPEI, VCI and risk scenarios.

Models transform meteorological, hydrological and satellite data into decision-ready information: flood forecasts, vigilance levels, water stress, water availability and territorial exposure.

Climate and predictive modelling Phase 1+ Floods · Droughts 48–72 h forecast
  • GR4H for watershed-scale hydrological forecasting.
  • HEC-RAS 2D for detailed floodplain mapping.
  • SPI/SPEI/VCI for drought monitoring.
Monitoring

Climate and risk monitoring dashboards

Visualization interfaces for experts, decision-makers, municipalities and partners.

Dashboards provide access to key indicators, alerts, maps, time series, locality summaries, data quality, processing performance and operational syntheses.

Climate dashboards Web portal National & local Real-time / periodic
  • Monitoring of climate and geospatial indicators.
  • Multi-scale view: national, regional, municipal, watershed.
  • Visualization of alerts and vigilance levels.
IMS

Information Management System for spatial and non-spatial data

Integrated analysis of natural resources, ecosystems, social capital and socio-economic priorities.

The IMS aims to centralize, structure, secure and use spatial and non-geospatial data to analyze interactions between environment, natural resources, ecosystems, socio-economic priorities and drivers of change.

National climate database Integrated system ONACC · PNDP · PADI-DJA Cross-data analysis
  • Inventory of available data and catalogue of sources.
  • Quality control, consistency, security and metadata management.
  • Analysis and visualization tools for public decision-making.
Product standard

Satellite imagery and metadata product catalogue

Organization by satellite, sensor, level, date, scene, format and associated files.

The data page prepares the future integration of standardized satellite products: raster images, metadata, browse images, thumbnails, RPC/RPB files, vector files and calibration information.
